The SNCF strike was over. Walked along the Canal du Midi via the airport to the FastHotel at Carcassonne.
Ryanair - hate - rage. They changed the flight times so it became impossible to get to the airport from Sète on the Sunday as originally planned. Now Neil is staying in a budget motel in Carcassonne within walking distance of the airport.
This means that the leg from Montpellier to Lunel had to be delayed till the next trip. Effectively a day has been cut from the holiday.
There is a plus side. Carcassonne is nice and the Canal du Midi made a nice walk. For all Ryanair's irritations, they do seem to get you there at lowish cost most of the time. By there, Carcassonne is the back of beyond, exactly where Neil wanted to be. Even Easyjet doesn't fly to such obscure locations and the "real" airlines don't come close.
