This is an easy walk on paths, unmade farm tracks and quiet tarmac country lanes.

A) This walk starts at the south end of Ringsfield Road beside the Sir John Leman school playing fields. Head out of town on the Ringsfield Road. Where the road bends left, go straight on, heading west, along a signposted bridleway where the trees make a tunnel. 0.5 Miles 11 11
B) Ignore the waymarked field-side path to the left and continue west towards the farm buildings. 180 Yds 2 13
C) At the farm buildings, bear right and then turn right and head roughly north on the concrete farm access road. 340 Yds 4 18
D) Before the first house on the left, turn left through a kissing gate and go along a footpath heading west. 550 Yds 7 24
E) At the tee junction, turn right onto the tarmac lane and head roughly north. 180 Yds 2 27
F) At the tee junction, turn left into Hall Road and head south west. 570 Yds 7 34
G) Just before the first farm, turn right and head north. This is a signposted wooded sunken path with a stream bed that is usually dry. This is Sandy Lane but there is no sign to indicate this. 330 Yds 4 38
H) When Sandy Lane bends right, after about 20 yards, turn left along another signposted field edge path heading north west. 250 Yds 3 41
I) Cross the main road and head north along the un-surfaced road between the houses. After 270 yards, go straight on where another footpath crosses. 760 Yds 10 51
J) At the farm track junction, just after you pass between two isolated houses, turn right and head east. The Barsham Hall ruins are to your north as well as other restored buildings. You will be walking parallel with some power lines. 0.8 Miles 18 1:08
K) Follow the farm track as it does a right left zigzag. 620 Yds 8 1:16
L) At the main road, turn left, heading east, and use the roadside path. 320 Yds 4 1:20
M) Soon after the sign to the Pilgrims' Way, turn right onto the signposted path and head roughly south. This is Hangman's Lane. 670 Yds 8 1:28
A) At the top of Hangman's Lane you reach your starting point.
